E-signatures make your quote a more professional and binding document. In InvoiceOwl, e-signatures are managed through contracts attached to quotes.
Here is how to enable e-signatures on a quote:
Step 1: Set up a contract template with signature requirements
- Go to your business Settings.
- Under Document Settings, find Contracts.
- Create a new contract template or edit an existing one.
- Enable Business signature required if you want to sign the quote before sending.
- Enable Client signature required if you want your client to sign when they receive it.
- Save the contract template.
Step 2: Attach the contract to your quote
- Open or create a quote.
- Scroll down to the Contract section on the quote form.
- Select your contract template from the dropdown.
- The signature requirements from the template will apply to this quote.
Step 3: Override signature settings per quote (optional)
On the quote form, after selecting a contract template, you can override the signature settings for that specific quote:
- Toggle Your signature required on or off.
- Toggle Client signature required on or off.
These overrides only affect the current quote, not the template defaults.
Once a contract with signature requirements is attached, the signature status will appear in the right sidebar on the quote detail page.
On the Mobile App
You can enable e-signatures on quotes from the mobile app as well.
- Tap the Quotes tab, then tap the + button in the center of the bottom tab bar and select Quote (or tap + in the top-right of the Quotes list).
- When creating or editing a quote, scroll down and tap Contract to select a contract template.
- The signature requirements from the template will apply. You can toggle Your signature required and Client signature required on or off for the specific quote.
Contract templates are managed in More > Settings > Contracts.
